And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 "The One Who created me, so He will guide me." 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 "And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised." 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 nor any loving friend. 101 "So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!" 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
