Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
