And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
