And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
