Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
