And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no caring friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
