And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
