The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when Noah, their brother, said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 106 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 107 so serve you God, and obey you me. 108 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being; 109 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 110 ۞ They said: "Should we place our trust in you when only the condemned follow you?" 111 He said: "And what knowledge have I of what they used to do? 112 Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware. 113 And I am not to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a plain warner." 115 They said, "Noah, if you do not desist, you will, certainly, be stoned to death." 116 [Whereupon] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Behold, my people have given me the lie: 117 therefore, judge decisively between me and them; and save me and the believers who are with me." 118 Thereafter We rescued him and those who were with him in the laden Ark 119 Then after it, We drowned the rest. 120 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 121 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 122
