The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their brother Nuh (Noah) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 106 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 107 Have fear of God and obey me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 "So fear Allah, and obey me." 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 Said he: "And what knowledge could I have as to what they were doing [before they came to me]? 112 "Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand. 113 And I am not (here) to repulse believers. 114 I am none but a plain warner." 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 He said: "My Lord! My people have branded me a liar. 117 So pass a clear judgement between me and them and rescue me and the believers with me." 118 So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures). 119 afterwards, We drowned the rest. 120 In this there is evidence (of the truth) but most of them do not have any faith. 121 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 122
