The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their brother Nuh (Noah) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 106 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 107 so fear Allah, and obey me. 108 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They said: "Should we place our trust in you when only the condemned follow you?" 111 He said: "It is not for me to know what they were doing. 112 Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew; 113 "I am not one to drive away those who believe. 114 I am only a plain warner." 115 They said: "If you cease not, O Nuh (Noah)! You will surely be among those stoned (to death)." 116 He said, 'My Lord, my people have cried me lies, 117 So pass a clear judgement between me and them and rescue me and the believers with me." 118 Wherefore We delivered him and those with him in the laden ark. 119 and drowned the rest. 120 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 121 surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 122
