The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall not be punished." 138 And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 140
