The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
