The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
