The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
