The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
