[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
