The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
