The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
