The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We destroyed the others 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
