The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
