The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
