Alshu'araa' 10 of 11

The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
