The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
