The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
