And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
