Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
