And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
