The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. 1 A guidance and glad tidings for the believers. 2 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 3 As for those who will not believe in the life to come - behold, goodly have We made their own doings appear unto them, and so they stumble blindly to and fro 4 Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. 5 And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." 7 So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; 8 Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. 9 [And then He said:] "Now throw down thy staff!" But when he saw it move rapidly, as if it were a serpent, he drew back [in terror,] and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] O Moses! Fear not - for, behold, no fear need the message-bearers have in My Presence, 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." 12 But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." 13 They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! 14
