The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
