Corruption doth appear on land and sea because of (the evil) which men's hands have done, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return. 41 Say: 'Journey in the land and see what was the end of those who were before you. Most of them were idolaters' 42 So set thy face toward the right religion before the Day cometh from which there is no averting, from Allah, on that Day they shall be sundered. 43 Whoso disbelieves, his unbelief shall be charged against him; and whosoever does righteousness for themselves they are making provision, 44 That He may reward those who believe and work righteous deeds, out of his Bounty. For He loves not those who reject Faith. 45 And of His signs is that He sendeth winds heralding rain and that He may make you taste of His mercy, and that the ships may sail at His command and that ye may seek His grace, and that haply ye may return thanks. 46 Before you We sent other Messengers to their people; and they came with clear signs. We took revenge upon the sinners, and it was an incumbent duty upon Us to give victory to the believers. 47 Allah is He Who sendeth the winds so that they raise a cloud and then spreadeth it along the heaven as He will and breaketh it into fragments, and thou beholdest the rain come forth from the interstices thereof. Then when He maketh it fall upon such of His bondmen as He will, lo! they rejoice. 48 Although they were, before it was sent down upon them - before that, in despair. 49 See, then, the tokens of Allah's Mercy: how He revives the earth after it is dead. Verily He is the One Who will revive the dead. He has power over everything. 50 And if We sent a wind and they beheld it yellow, they verily would still continue in their disbelief. 51 And verily, thou canst not make the dead hear: and [so, too,] thou canst not make the deaf [of heart] hear this call when they turn their backs [on thee] and go away, 52 Thou shalt not guide the blind out of their error neither shalt thou make any to hear except for such as believe in Our signs, and so surrender. 53
