Corruption has appeared in the land and the sea on account of what the hands of men have wrought, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, so that they may return. 41 (O Prophet), say: “Traverse in the earth and see what was the end of those who went before you: most of them associated others with Allah in His Divinity.” 42 Then turn thy face straight to the right religion before there come from Allah the day which cannot be averted; on that day they shall become separated. 43 he who has denied the truth will have to bear [the burden of] his denial, whereas all who did what is right and just will have made goodly provision for themselves, 44 That He may reward those who believe and work righteous deeds, out of his Bounty. For He loves not those who reject Faith. 45 for among His wonders is this: He sends forth [His messages as He sends forth] the winds that bear glad tidings, so that He might give you a taste of His grace [through life-giving rains,] and that ships might sail at His behest, and that you might go about in quest of some of His bounties, and that you might have cause to be grateful. 46 Verily We sent many apostles before you to their people, who brought clear signs with them. Then We retributed those who were sinful. It is a duty incumbent on Us to help the believers. 47 It is God who sends out the winds so that they raise the clouds. Then He spreads them in the sky as He wills and places them layer upon layer and you see the rain issuing forth from their midst. When He causes it to fall on whichever of His servants He pleases, behold! they rejoice; 48 although before that they were given to despair. 49 Look, therefore, at the signs of God's mercy; how He resurrects the earth after its death. Truly, the same God will resurrect the dead; for He has power over all things. 50 Yet if We send a wind and they see their harvest turn yellow, they will then begin to deny [Our favours]. 51 You [Prophet] cannot make the dead hear and you cannot make the deaf hear your call when they turn their backs and leave; 52 You cannot guide the blind out of their error. Nor shall you make any to hear except those who believe in Our verses, and are submissive. 53
