Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. 11
