Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 For, whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a one, he turns away in his arrogance as though he had not heard them - as though there were deafness in his ears. Give him, then, the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and cast on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. Upon it He dispersed all manner of crawling thing, and He sent down water from the sky with which He caused to grow in it every generous kind. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
