Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
