Couldst thou but see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord, (and say): Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back; we will do right, now we are sure. 12 And if We had pleased We would certainly have given to every soul its guidance, but the word (which had gone forth) from Me was just: I will certainly fill hell with the jinn and men together. 13 So taste ye the sequel, for as much as ye forgat the meeting of this your day, verily We have forgotten you. Taste the torment abiding for that which ye have been working. 14 Only those who believe in Our verses, when reminded of them, prostrate themselves and exalt with the praise of their Lord in humility; ۩ 15 Their limbs do forsake their beds of sleep, the while they call on their Lord, in Fear and Hope: and they spend (in charity) out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on them. 16 No soul knows what peace and joy lie hidden from them as reward for what they have done. 17 Is a believer equal to an evil-doer? They are not equal at all. 18 Those who believe and do good deeds shall be lodged in the Gardens of Paradise as a reward for what they have done. 19 But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny." 20 And most surely We will make them taste a lesser punishment before the greater punishment, so that perhaps they may return to Us in repentance. 21 And who does more wrong than he who is reminded of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of his Lord, then he turns aside therefrom? Verily, We shall exact retribution from the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 22
