۞ Say: "I counsel you one thing only: Be [ever conscious of] standing before God, whether you are in the company of others or alone; and then bethink yourselves [that] there is no madness in [this prophet,] your fellow-man: he is only a warner to you of suffering severe to come." 46 Say: "The reward I ask is for yourself. My reward is due from none but God; and He is witness over everything." 47 Say to them: “My Lord hurls down the Truth (upon me). He knows fully all that lies beyond the range of perception.” 48 Say: "The truth has now come [to light, and falsehood is bound to wither away]: for, falsehood cannot bring forth anything new, nor can it bring back [what has passed away]." 49 Say: If I err, I err only against my own soul, and if I follow a right direction, it is because of what my Lord reveals to me; surely He is Hearing, Nigh. 50 Couldst thou but see when they are terrified with no escape, and are seized from near at hand, 51 and say: 'We believe in it' But how can they reach from a place that is distant, 52 since they disbelieved in it before, guessing at the Unseen from a distant place? 53 A barrier will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with the likes of them before. Surely they were in a disquieting doubt. 54
