The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 surely, your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
