The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
