The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
