۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Are we not then to die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
