۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 Then, are we not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
