3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
