The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
