Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
