Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
