Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
