(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
