Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
