3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
