Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We bestowed the clear Book to both of them. 117 guided them to the right path, 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 He told his people, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And Lut was most surely of the apostles. 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind; 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by them in the morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
